This property will likely be very nice one day in 2008, but I got conned into going there just after Christmas 06 when it had recently opened.
I though some things would not to be open or finished, but we had no air conditioning or hot water in the room for the entire stay. Food was meadiocre quality with limited selection in their one restaurant that was open. My issue was and is the tour operator - Sunwing of Canada - failed to inform me of the conditions - I would have changed hotels for sure. I paid top dollar for 5 star but got 2-3 star quality and service. Staff very politely listened to my plees for help, promised to take action yet did nothing. Sunwing failed us; our travel agency failed us; the Bahia Group should be ashamed. Nobody is taking responsibility for taking our money and failing to provide the basics. Not only will we not return when this property becomes what they say it will, but we will never return to a Bahia property anywhere. I guess Canadian tour operators don't have to inform people when their brochure is utterly misleading. Oh - the Sunwing rep had never visited the resort so could not verffy our story!! Lesson to learn from me: document your concerns, shout and scream unti, someone listens and signs your paper. Being a nice guy obviously is a waste of time and money.
