We visited Club Carabela March 8-15, 2005 and enjoyed every minute of it! The grounds are very lovely and well-maintained. We were met with greetings and smiles everywhere we looked. There were more English-speaking visitors than I expected, although the norm is Spanish, German or French. We had a very comfortable room, with a balcony looking out over the bar pool.

Some reviewers have complained of hard beds, but ours was fine. There was an abundance of bottled water available to avoid drinking the local water, so that wasn't a problem. The buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner were abundant! We enjoyed a lobster dinner at one of the specialty restaurants ($15 each) our last night there, which was elegant and delicious!, but all other meals are included.

Basking by the ocean every day was pure delight! There is plenty of shade available so you can be comfortable all day. Other resorts have thatched huts on the beach for shade, but Club Carabela has a very natural beach with palm trees and some sort of pine tree providing lots of rest from the hot sun! If you don't want to spend your day lying around, there are many sporting competitions to participate in. We are planning to return next year, simply wonderful!
