John Huston\'s Restaurant - Located over a large rock with wonderful view of the Bahia de Banderas inspiration to the legendary director of the film La Noche de la Iguana. It offers seafood specialties. Located up a hill near the hotel.

We had a great time together, and the Barcelo property was indeed lovely. The rooms were spacious, nicely kept, and comfortable. The pools were great -- beautiful and warm.

Our one disappointment was the food and service at the restaurants. If you have clients who care about good food and wine as we do, you should caution them that the Barcelo is not the place for them. Even my kids had a hard time at the restaurants -- there were 4 eating establishments, and of the 4, only 1 had choices for children. There were very long waits, and the service was really not good at any of the restaurants, other than the general \"El Patio\" buffet, where of course we served ourselves. The worst was when we waited over an hour and a half at lunch, seeing all of the other families who came after us being served, and our food never came, despite my repeated inquiries to the server. Finally, after we gave up and walked out, the restaurant manager tried to get us to come back from the pool area to eat the pizza and nachos that we\'d ordered.

Naturally, food is a matter of preference; we met a family who thought the food was great. On the other hand, we overheard a lot of similar complaints from other hotel guests about the wait and service. By comparison, the food, both in terms of variety and quality.
