My Favorite Resort - EVER!
5.0 Rating by Sandy on October 13, 2008
I have not been back to this resort in seveal years. However, the times that I visited (and yes, I kept coming back to the same one), it was amazing! As an American, I can say that I have yet to stay at a hotel that is cleaner! This place, regardless of small issues (water pressure depending on the time of day, or lack of access to food late at night) was the absolute nicest place I have ever stayed. The staff was incredible! There was never a need that was not met. The room was more than clean... I cannot begin to explain! The food... WOW! You have your choices... hamburger and nachos, or a 7 course meal... you decide. All are good!
The seclusion of this resort is what makes it the MOST fabulous! In all of my pictures that I brought back, everyone kept asking me.... \"where are the people?\" This resort is strategically nestled in the middle of nowhere. You can walk the beach for miles and miles! There is nothing there! It is amazing!
What prompted me to write this review is one person who commented on the fact that on the weekends, there were many Mexican families that vacationed there. That was the complaint. That was one of the things that I loved about the resort! It was very family oriented, and it was NOT a tourist spot! I guess I just don\'t understand why anyone would vacation to Mexico, and have the audacity to admit that they were annoyed by Mexicans.
We met several amazing families there! We learned alot about Mexican culture, and want to bring our kids! This is a GREAT place for families!
Overall...Pretty Good

For the most part I had a really good time at Palladium Vallarta. The resort was gorgeous, and very clean. I enjoyed the food; however there could have been a little more variety. The rooms were nice, and VERY well air conditioned. I read reviews before I went and others complained that there was no place to put your clothes, for everyone else that is going to travel to this resort I can assure you that this is not a problem.
I found the staff to be great, especially the guys in charge of the water sports down by the ocean. Whenever you want a drink there is definitely a bar to serve your needs. Two of the al a carte restaurants were okay, but Vive la Mexico was to die for. The food was wonderful, but the view takes your breath away. I would recommend that you save this one for your final night at the resort.
The shows in the evening were good but not great, I certainly give them an A for effort. There were a few things that I was really unhappy with. This seems to be a very hot spot for Mexicans to vacation. Thursday evenings, hundreds of Mexicans are bused in from surrounding cities to stay for the weekend. The resort from Sunday to Wednesday evening was great and then everything changes. There were so many children, you cannot get away from them. From Thursday to Sunday the resort completely caters to the Mexicans and pretty much ignores everyone else. In a sense they take over the resort, this really upset me. Another thing was that our flight did not leave until 2am on Saturday night and we were made check out of our room at 11:30 on Saturday morning. We had to spend 14 hours wandering aimlessly around the resort until it was time to leave. The worst part was that in total there were 8 couples and the resort was only 60% full at that time. Under no certain term were we allowed to keep our room. If you are leaving at this time in the morning please be aware of the very long day ahead of you. Finally this is not a resort that I would recommend to people that have difficulty walking or dislikes stairs. Due to the location of this resort there are stairs EVERYWHERE. It is really beautiful however walking around the resort can be very tiring. I would recommend this resort however I would not return.
