Very Nice Property

Just returned from Royal Decameron in Puerto Vallera on Sat. March 3. The resort sits way down the beach and is very secluded from surrounding hotels, etc. We swam and snorkeled on our trip with no problems with sting rays or jelly fish.
We took cups and rafts as recommended and gave the rafts to others when we departed. We also looked up Scott in Bucerias for booking excursions. Felt he did a good job for us. Just be sure when pricing trips, you compare apples to apples. Some trips are similar, but not the same. Buceias is a nice walk from the resort. We went there often for odds and ends and usually grabbed a beer before our return.
We took the city bus into Puerto Vallarta. Be sure if you go to walk all the way to the river. Bus service is also available to the Marina where we took the tour Santamaria. It was $25 for a light breakfast, whale watching, snorkeling, open bar, lunch at a beautiful beach, and party boat back. Can't beat that. Take walking shoes and extra money if interested in adding to your day at another stop if you're not into just an afternoon at the beach. The drinks cost with lunch there also. Beware of the man holding the iguana. He charges you to take your own picture with the beast. We also took the adventure tour where you take a speed boat to the base of the mountain. You then get into these vehicles that take you up into the mountains. Beautiful! Then they take all your belongings and lock them up....No more camera!!...and you ride mules up another 1/2 hour. Then the zip lines down. Exhilarating!!! Over waterfalls, jungle and breathtaking views. Photos are available by computer at the end. Take money or credit card for purchase and tip. These guys are awesome.
Make reservations for dinner after 3 pm for the next day. Italian fill up quickly. The grounds are clean and beautiful. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. We were in block 5 and loved our location. Shows are worth trying out. A lot of audience participation.
We have always gone to the Caribbean side of Mexico. Both places are great. Puerto Vallarta was a pleasant change and my husband, and the couple we went with, are already discussing a return trip. Adios Amigos.

The hotel was great. Arrived at the airport and we were met by an Apple Tours representative. Took us right to the hotel, where were met by a very friendly staff (the ratio seemed like it was one staff to every three guests). The next morning, a representative gave us a run down on the tours offered and some general information about the area. We booked a sailboat ride to the Merrietas for snorkeling, went to Sayalita surfing, rode horses to Buccarias, dined out a couple of times, and just generally had a great time. I'd go there again in a New York minute. Thank you - it was everything you said it would be.
