Fantastic

This was the best holiday i\'ve ever been on!!! we went in a big group (12!) the weather was fantastic....the staff were fabulous, very helpfull!! there is great shopping once your out of the shantie part -(which you have to walk through!) If you like steak its the place to go. In usual places you find drinks watered down not here. It is actually 24hrs...so you can imagine the beer drinkers loving it. the bar man finally give in to the brits and them make their own cocktails. Also there is plenty of sun loungers, no need to put your towel down! the facilitys are fantasic. Make sure you try each of the speciality foods, you do have to pre-book but of no cost! ive been back twice and would willingly go back every year if i had the chance.
Excellent!

This hotel was the best one I've been to yet. All the staff was so friendly. Everything about the place was beautiful.
Not Good
3.5 Rating by Allison on March 3, 2005
I really can't complain about the sun and sand but...when we arrived we had asked for an ocean view room...there are none. We faced the jungle. For a few days it was nice to see the monkeys and other animals around the resort...but what I had asked for was oceanview. This was not the fault of the hotel but the agent (sunquest) that we had booked with, they had told us that there were ocean view rooms.
The hotel staff were the best part about staying at this hotel. They were amazing.
Downfalls....having to get to the beach by 8 a.m. to reserve a lounge chair. If you don't you are SOL as the beach is packed. Dinner reservations...if you aren't in the lobby to book them by 6:30 7 a.m you are again SOL. The buffet has 2 seatings 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. so if you are hungry at different times you are again SOL. If you are used to friendly travellers you won't find them here. Usually we go to Cancun and a variety of other destinations....at this resort no one talks to you. I found that the clientele at this hotel was very, very introverted.
We transferred to the Riu Caribe in Cancun for the last 2 days of our 14 day trip...had to argue and fight with the front desk staff to do so... It was wonderful at the Riu Caribe. Stay there if you can!
If you are looking for a vacation where you want to be alone and no one converses with you, with a packed beach, looking at the jungle and you cannot eat when you want than the Riu Yucatan is for you!
Thanks to the entertainment and resteraunt staff for making our visit bearable!
Cheers!
